In the UK, children from disadvantaged backgrounds are 18 months behind their
peers by the time they take their GCSEs.
A disadvantaged child is three times more likely to be excluded from school. According to research, a high number of low-income students are excluded from school. Due to their prolonged absences from school, these pupils have few opportunities to receive educational support and take exams.
Our Solution
We envision an education system that allows everyone ( including those in unfavourable circumstances) to reach their full potential. We believe that, when made accessible to all, tutoring can significantly improve students' education and transform their lives. As a result, the Jaira Solutions team, in partnership with Help The Nations charity, have developed a mentoring and tutoring program to help disadvantaged children thrive. The program aims to provide children from primary education onwards with basic educational needs such as learning to read and write as well as numerical skills and other essential skills required to succeed both in and out of school. Our goal is to make education fairer and help every child unlock their potential one tutoring session at a time.

Whether you're a student, a recent graduate or a seasoned tutor, we're looking for you. You don't need any previous experience to volunteer as a tutor or mentor with Jaira Solutions, just some spare time, dedication, and a heart for helping others. Volunteering as a mentor or tutor with Jaira Solutions allows you to make a real difference in the lives of disadvantaged young people in your community. All it takes is one hour each week from you (either online or face-face). By supporting disadvantaged children, you increase their chances of achieving good grades and prepare them for a brighter future.

Register
Fill in our volunteer online tutor application form and tell us about your education and reasons for volunteering.

Documents
Provide all the relevant documents ( ID, proof of address and a character reference).

DBS Check
Complete a DBS check and our online safeguarding course. Training is also provided for inexperienced tutors.

Tutor
Begin delivering tuition sessions.
